Cultural Competence in Healthcare

A lack of cultural competence and trust between healthcare providers and underrepresented communities throughout the U.S. contributes to lower rates of medical literacy and higher rates of preventable disease among these groups. We will advocate for communities by providing policymakers with research on health equity gaps and programs improving healthcare accessibility.  We plan to target already-proposed legislation that can add a provision that creates or reinforces these programs.
